The first floor pilasters and window pediments are topped with a simple balustraded parapet. The window openings have been extended to ground level and the frames replaced. Former Commercial Bank of Australia 192 Sydney Road,, BRUNSWICK VIC 3056 - Property No B6032	A well-proportioned and finely detailed Italian Renaissance revival design erected in 1887 to the plans of Evander McIver, a prominent local engineer and architect. It is a late but correspondingly sophisticated example of its type. The building was a rare excursion into classicism by McIver and is his only known design for a bank.
